To activate the Spell Checker when you are typing your email message, click the "ABC - Spell Check As You Type" drop down and click "Enable SCAYT".  Possible typing errors will be underlined.  To replace with the correct spelling simply click on the word to place the cursor on the word, then right click to see the available choices, and select the replacement or simply type over to fix.
